Who we are
Pelagic Systems ApS (CVR 46816978), Hiort Lorenzens Gade 2, 1. tv, 2200 København N, Denmark, is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us about privacy at [email protected].
This policy covers this website and the emails you send us at the address listed on it. It does not cover our software products or customer projects, which have their own agreements.
Visiting the website
The website is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver the pages and protect the site against abuse and attacks, Cloudflare processes technical data about each request: your IP address, browser and device information, the page requested, and the time.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Cloudflare keeps this data only as long as needed for these purposes.
The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking. All pages, images, fonts, and scripts are served from pelagic.systems itself, so visiting the site sends no data to any company other than our host, Cloudflare.
Your light or dark theme
When you switch between the light and dark themes, your browser remembers the choice in its local storage, so the site keeps the theme on your next visit. This happens only when you click the theme switch.
The setting stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can remove it at any time by clearing the site data in your browser.
When you email us
When you write to [email protected] — for a demo, a collaboration, a purchase, or technical support — we process the information you send: typically your name, email address, organization, role, and message.
For technical support you may attach a diagnostic report created by our software. It contains package versions, operating-system and runtime information, diagnostic logs, and basic environment information. Please do not include credentials, experimental data, or other confidential information.
We use this information only to answer and follow up on your request. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering inquiries (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) and, where your request concerns a possible agreement, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
We keep the correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and the follow-up, and delete it no later than 24 months after our last contact, unless it becomes part of a customer relationship or we must keep it by law.
Job applications
When you apply for a position by emailing [email protected], we process your application, CV, and any other information you send in order to assess it. The legal basis is taking steps before a possible employment contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
Please do not send your CPR number or sensitive information such as health data.
If you are not hired, we delete your application six months after the position has been filled. We keep it longer only with your consent, for example to consider you for future positions. If you are hired, your application becomes part of your employee file.
Our team page
The names, photos, roles, short biographies, and work email addresses of our team are published with their consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). They can withdraw their consent at any time, and we then remove their information from the site.
Who processes the data for us
We use two data processors, both bound by data processing agreements with us:
- Cloudflare, Inc. — website hosting, DNS, and security
- Google (Google Workspace) — our email
Both may process data in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, under which both companies are certified, and by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
We do not sell personal data, share it with others for their own purposes, or use it for profiling or automated decisions.
Links to other websites
The website links to other sites, such as research papers and our partners. Their own privacy policies apply when you follow those links.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- have incorrect data corrected
- have your data erased
- have the processing restricted
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest
- receive your data in a portable format
- withdraw consent you have given, at any time
Write to [email protected] to use these rights. We answer within one month.
You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet (www.datatilsynet.dk).
